The Seven Deadly Sins: Encore

A single-player card game set in a haunted theater, where you stage a show for seven demanding desires and no ending is ever good enough.

Summary

Encore is a single-player card game about wanting more and never feeling done. You come back to an old, run-down theater that once followed one simple rule: one ticket, one show. Now seven desires have taken over the stage, and each one wants something different from you. On every turn you play Event cards and collect Items, then arrange them so their effects multiply into a high enough score to keep each desire happy. The trouble is that their demands keep climbing. Play it safe and you may fall short. Chase big numbers instead, and you slowly lose control of the run. You never quite reach an ending. You just take the stage again.

Design Pillars

01

Desires Set the Rules

A desire is not just a theme sitting on top of the game. Each one changes how a run actually works, from the cards you can earn to the way your score is counted to what you are allowed to do. Clearing a stage means reading the desire in charge and playing the way it wants you to.

02

Plan Several Turns Ahead

Items you collect do not become usable right away. They arrive a few turns later, so you are always setting up plays before you can actually make them. As the game gets harder, single strong cards stop being enough, and you have to line up several turns in advance so the right cards land together.

03

Two Ways to Play

The easy rewards are also the risky ones, and using too many of them changes the way the game behaves. That splits play into two styles. One is careful and steady, built around clean, reliable combos. The other leans into the chaos, breaking the normal rules to reach far bigger payoffs.

What You'll Do

  • Play for seven different desires, each one changing the rules of your run
  • Combine Event and Item cards so their effects multiply into a bigger score
  • Collect Items now that you can only play a few turns later, so plan ahead
  • Choose between safe, repeatable cards and risky ones that hit much harder
  • Lean too far into the risky cards and the game shifts into a darker, high-risk mode
  • Keep performing for an ending that never fully arrives
